This wolfsbane is based on an illustration from Edward Hamilton’s 1852 book ‘The Flora Homoeopathica: or, Illustrations and Descriptions of the Medicinal Plants Used as Homoeopathic Remedies.’ Also know as Aconitum napellus, aconite or monkshood, the flowers may be blue, purple, white, yellow, or pink.

The primary toxin in wolfsbane is aconitine; it kills by paralyzing the respiratory system and the heart. Even touching the plant can cause symptoms of toxicity. Aconite has been used around the world as an arrow poison.

My wolfsbane is 4.75 inches tall, stitched by hand on 5x7 inch 100% cotton watercolour paper, which means that it will pop right into any commercial frame in that size, and be ready to hang on your wall.

Materials: Japanese paper and Korean papers, glass beads, and cotton floss on cotton paper.
