Dress #098: Victorian dress in black

When I first saw this travelling ensemble in an Augusta Auctions catalogue from 2024, I had two thoughts:

1. This is the gothest thing I’ve ever seen, and;
2. Sadly, all that black-on-black won’t translate well into stitched paper.

I was correct about the first, but it turns out I was wrong about the second!

The dress is six inches tall, stitched by hand on 8x10 inch 100% cotton watercolour paper, which means that it will pop right into any commercial frame in that size, and be ready to hang on your wall.

Materials: Nepalese paper, glass beads, and cotton floss on cotton paper; 24.5 x 20.3 cm (10 x 8")
