Harpy in Wine & Copper

This slightly terrifying, yet also adorable harpy is based on an illustration from John Jonston’s Natural History of Birds, the sixth volume of his epic ‘Natural history of the quadrupeds’ published between 1650 and 1652.

She is 3.25 inches tall, stitched by hand on 5x7 inch 100% cotton watercolour paper, which means that it will pop right into any commercial frame in that size, and be ready to hang on your wall.

Materials: Nepalese lokta & Thai kozo papers, glass bead, and cotton floss on cotton paper.
