This legless winged dragon is from a 1742 book by Charles Owen, titled An Essay towards a Natural History of Serpents: In Two Parts. It is further subtitled Illustrated with Copper-Plates, Engraved by the Best Hands: The Whole Intermix’d with Variety of Entertaining Digressions, Philosophical and Historical.
The dragon is 4.75 inches wide, stitched by hand on 5x7 inch 100% cotton watercolour paper, which means that it will pop right into any commercial frame in that size, and be ready to hang on your wall.
